AutoEmote

That's the mode in which people attend weddings. Emote as soon as a slight warmth felt.
I don't blame people. We are made that way i guess. Happy on tickling, teary on parting...blah blah. But somehow I don't connect to those feelings which induce tears in marriages though I connect to the one's that make me laugh.. So with a sole intention of giving best wishes and bringing a little smile on my sisters face, I chose the path of writing a funny poem for my sisters wedding as a gift which I intended to put in the scrap book made by my Lil cousin sis.

Following is my poem. Not flowery, not sophisticated, but just a few feelings and memories that were put to words....just a day before my sis wedding and on the way to Delhi(the venue of marriage).
Like I promised(post-wedding), I wont stop anyone from emoting, but Ill try to learn to bring only that much warmth next time that can be held without melting peoples heart to tears.
Here is the poem :
To dearest Monaco(that's what I call my sis),

You've been a great student,
You've been an ideal sister,
Your life's been a guide,
with lots of pinnacles and pride.

We had fun,
We had fights,
it was innocent and without guile,
even if it was for a while.

Memories diminished,
time went faster,
we both grew taller,
and understood that, it was not "matter".
(background: we used to fight whose going to be taller when we would grow up.)

I remember how my tickles irritated you,
and how you closed yourself in a room for studies,
you were my mom's favorite,
and now you have found your mate.(I find this part funny)

We never discussed your marriage,
and it was best this way,
I dint know how to make this special,
This is my small little funny way.

I'm sure jiju is a gem,
just like you are to us,
So to share your joy we are here,
Happy n gay, dancing n hopping, here and there(This ones funny too :))

I wish you all the best,
and a happy married life,
rife with love and care,
in a life that you will now share.

So I handed over this poem to my to-be-wed sis..too embarrassed to read it aloud.
She said she wont cry and I said you cant on this funny one. :) But alas, she cried and I was guilty of being extra warm ...
But I'm sure she shall remember it and so shall I.
A few extra smiles I received for this, but my motive was served and it was a special moment for her.:)

Life is funny when its good and funny when its sad ...but only when the sad times have passed.
