Lame law.

Even though I have no experience in managing a country with so many people; I can say we have a lame law.Its been a discussion outside courts;at homes of terror hit people;at Mumbai and at the lunch and dinner tables of almost every house hold in Mumbai.
Yes I am talking about the ubiquitous topic: The Kasab case.
Some terrorists coolly come to the shore of land discovered by Vasco Da Gama in a manner similar to his except that this one's loaded with every deleterious material needed to shed enough blood to talk about for a few coming years. And they are successful. Not at terrorizing people but giving topics for the immature Indian media(Again I don't need an experience here. The stupid BREAKING NEWS that they display is enough to conclude.).And now one of the culprits is sitting in the jail with most flattering media attention and a treatment may be the other unfortunate jailed are devoid of. May be the conversation now among small time criminals is they have to commit this big a crime to achieve this kind of a royal treatment...
Information has been pouring since day one from this detained and certified terrorist. It requires validation ; agreed. More could be lurking behind the ever changing replies from this psychopath. But when it comes to taking action on the information provided; the blindfolded lady thinks twice! Will this case go on and on like the other scam cases ? Or will it only till the day there is a security lapse and this fellow escapes to kill some more innocent lives ?

How many times are we going to go over and over again saying there has to be a different law for handling terrorism? Sometimes it feels as if the law is too lame to handle cases this strong. Are we going to tolerate such terrorism and let its culprits breathe under the hood of democracy and give them a fair chance ?

The government should be made to give a daily report to the ever hungry media on this case as its a universal concern. The RTI might help in that case. A law(about RTI) I doubt would give us enough lead in every government aspect but surely would in this case. This reporting would clearly display the languid law and its dying effectiveness. At least it would budge the law-handlers to wake up and put a full-stop on this long-stretched drama under pressure if not as a part of their duty.

Angelic...adorable..

Those are the adjectives that pop up in my mind every time I think of the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa host Afsha. This six year old kid with tiny red spectacles sitting on her nose, donned with a little frock drives a show! And no, there is no sign of the prompter helping her in her talks. And believe me its done in complete extemporaneous manner.

Well the show is about a competition of kids with nearly single-digit ages . And each gem picked up by renowned singers. But the major attraction no matter what is the show host. Whenever she speaks my heart leaps to catch hold of her and leave a tightly held on her cheek.

She came in the lime light only by chance during the auditions. She was five then. A renowned singer and judge Alka Yagnik asked this child prodigy a couple of questions and got a prompt and adorable replies. Observing these precocious impulses Alka asked Afsha's mom "What did you consume when she was in yet to be born that has given rise to this gem?". And Afsha answered for her mom saying she had had a "Vada Pav". That's it. This question has been asked to her so many times since then in the show that her birthday was celebrated with a cake in the shape of Vada Pav.:D Each one on the show is so moved by this little star that her cheek was full of lipstick marks at the end of her birthday celebration. The show is adjusted with another little boy host to accommodate this young smarty.
A treat to the eyes after a long day's work. :) Love you Afsha!

Without health, there is no point. To anything. ~Everett Mámor

Do you remember the feeling you get when as a kid you were not allowed to play and all your friends would have tried calling you?

Watching teary eyed out the window with tiny eyes at friends playing the most exciting game of hide and seek. Not allowed to go down to play because home work is not completed or school arranged a silly test the next day such that only this kid is stuck.Have you had this feeling ever ? Well, I did...but that was twelve years back and after that this weekend.

A friend was back in town after three years and we had planned a get-together. So extensively planned events hardly get any last minute changes..but this time there was! The all excited me; never got chance to get out of the house. The moment I got off the train to Bombay, I was having a temperature of more that 102 degrees. Tried ignoring, distracting myself,..but how far could I run away from myself...I had to face it. I was flat on the bed as soon as I reached.

The next 48 hours I was the mermaid of the bed;now that it was known I had caught viral fever. No walking, talking and aware of each of the 102 bones, coz most of the joints were hurting. Just sleeping , rolling, re planning trying to make it possible to catch up some or the other way. And of course messaging. The weakness and the rise and fall of the temperatures took out all the energy and water out of me ...Felt like a pig ... (No connection with swine flu there :))

Recovered now,I wish if-only weekends were longer, or may be only this one... or may be I could go back in time and not have missed the rest of ma friends who enjoyed meeting after such a huge gap. But wish list never ends.lesson re-learnt; without health nothing is useful. Not money, and not even plans :).
